PAUL DUNSTAN
Chairman

As Co-Founder and Chairman at Gladius, Paul leads the firm’s investment decision making and provides senior level strategic oversight to portfolio companies.

Paul is the Founder and past President of Plenary Group, North America’s leading long-term investor, developer and operator of public infrastructure with total assets worth in excess of $17 Billion.

Prior to forming Plenary Group in 2005, Paul led a number of high-profile projects that helped establish the Canadian P3 market and performed numerous roles across a diverse scope of infrastructure projects in Australia.  In 2016, Paul was awarded EY Entrepreneur of the Year award for his visionary leadership in the infrastructure sector.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Securities Institute of Australia.

RICK BAXTER
Managing Partner

As Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Gladius, Rick leads portfolio company strategy and performance, leveraging his experience as a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader.  Rick is also actively involved in deal origination, including all investment-related decisions.  

Rick spent most of his career building and growing a commuter aviation business in Western Canada, and has 30 years of operational and strategic acquisition experience. He served on the Canadian Advisory Board for Marsh & McLennan Companies, and was a member of the Tourism Vancouver Board for 12 years including Chairman during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Rick was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, and as a finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

Rick holds an Economics degree from the University of B.C. and has completed the Executive Leadership Course at the Stanford School of Business.

STEVE NORRIS
Managing Partner

As Managing Partner at Gladius, Steve co-leads the deal origination effort, including valuation, financial structuring, commercial negotiation and deal execution.  Steve played an integral role in the early growth of Gladius; having closed 6 transactions over the course of the Covid-19 pandemic.  In addition to deal origination, he is also actively involved in monitoring and supporting portfolio companies.

Steve came to Gladius from Plenary Group, where he led commercial and financial structuring efforts for public infrastructure projects across North American.  Previously, Steve worked at Macquarie Private Wealth in Toronto.

Steve holds an MBA from the University of Toronto (Rotman School of Management) and a B.Comm (Hons.) from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

DAN WURST
Managing Partner

As Managing Partner at Gladius, Dan co-leads the deal origination effort, including valuation, financial structuring, commercial negotiation and deal execution.   Dan is also actively involved in providing strategic assistance in the management of the portfolio companies.

Prior to Gladius, Dan spent over 16 years at Plenary Group. As a Senior Vice President Dan led the bid pursuit, commercial negotiations and financial structuring of North American public infrastructure projects worth in excess of $2 billion.  Dan also played an active role in the oversight and management of various projects including most recently serving as a board member for InTransit (Canada Line Skytrain project in Vancouver).

Dan holds a BA (honours) from Simon Fraser University, a Financial Management Diploma from British Columbia Institute of Technology and is a CFA Charter Holder.

SARAH HILL
Vice President

As Vice President at Gladius, Sarah works closely with the senior leadership team across deal origination, investment evaluation, financial modelling and due diligence. Sarah is also actively involved in the monitoring and support of the Gladius portfolio.

Prior to joining Gladius, Sarah was a director at MNP Corporate Finance providing transaction advisory services. Previously, Sarah worked within the investment banking division of Rand Merchant Bank and was an assurance manager at PwC.

Sarah qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) in Canada. She graduated from Nelson Mandela University in South Africa with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), majoring in accounting, economics and business management.

DAVID CHAPMAN
Senior Associate

As Senior Associate at Gladius, David assists the team across deal origination and due diligence, as well as portfolio company operations.

Previously, David was Manager of Strategic Projects at Peoples Group. Prior to that, David worked at PwC, within both the transaction services and assurance practices.

David is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from Simon Fraser University, concentrating in finance and accounting.

SEAN JARVIS
Senior Associate

As Senior Associate, Sean supports the team across deal origination and due diligence, as well as portfolio company operations.

Before joining Gladius, Sean was a Manager on the Corporate Finance team at Aritzia.  Previously, Sean worked at MNP Corporate Finance providing transaction advisory services and at PwC in the assurance practice.

Sean is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma of Accounting from the University of British Columbia.
